The Magic of Color featured at Ocean Art Gallery

ORMOND BEACH, FL – On Saturday, October 6, acrylic artist Fred Haase will be the first artist featured at the new home of Ocean Art Gallery in Ormond Beach. His one-person show “The Magic of Color” will have an Opening Reception from 5 to 8pm, with the show running through October 31.

After nearly six years in Flagler Beach, the gallery moved to 197 E Granada Blvd, Granada Plaza, in early June where it presents 33 artists, including four from Ormond Beach, in an attractive environment transformed to showcase each artist’s talent. Gallery owners Frank and Bibi Gromling chose Granada Plaza because it had all the positives they sought for their gallery: high vehicular and pedestrian traffic, quality restaurants, variety of businesses, strong reputation, and active owners.

Haase is pleased to be the first artist to have a one-person show at the new gallery. He has shown his paintings at the Gromlings’ galleries since he moved to the area in 2011. He is thrilled to be selected for the October show. Haase said, “Frank and Bibi work hard for their artists and to be a part of this first show in the Ormond Beach gallery is an honor and pleasure for me. I look forward to meeting clients new and old”

Haase’s colorful paintings of marine life, birds, and boats on canvas reach out to the viewer to create a variety of emotional responses. Brilliant colors add energy and depth to a variety of subjects, including dolphins, sharks, herons, sailboats, and more His early influence by Toulouse-Lautrec, Warhol, and Neiman is evident in his fanciful and colorful paintings. “I try to add whimsical flair and bright colors to my paintings to bring out the character and feelings of my subjects.  I strive to make each painting a study in graphic motion and color.”

During the evening reception, Haase will welcome guests, answer questions, and help everyone enjoy his art and that of his fellow artists, many of whom will be on hand. Refreshments and live music by the Dr. Cash Band will add to the ambiance.
