Mentor Needed at Hoover Middle School in Indialantic

Mentor Needed at Hoover Middle School in Indialantic

The Mentoring Program Coordinator at Hoover Middle School is looking for an artist to mentor an artistically talented 12-year old girl. An ideal mentor would make a commitment for the entire school year, 30 minutes a week to go to Hoover (Indialantic) during the school day (lunch time or during her art class) to encourage her and be a like-minded adult friend and role model.

Mentors do have to go through background checks and fingerprinting by the school district at a cost of $35. However, if the person cannot afford this extra expense, they have a community partner who is willing to pay the fee.

They are having a mentor training at the school from 9:30 a.m. until noon on September 13th with projected student-mentor introduction at the end of September. Anyone interested in this mentoring position, please call Laurie Chalko at 321-727-1611 ext. 1014.
