Join local artists and art lovers on Friday April 27, 2018 from 6 to 9 pm at the Downtown Art Gallery, 335 S. Washington Ave. in Titusville for the opening reception for their latest exhibit “Then and Now: A Showcase of Art”. This exhibit features the work of Port St John resident and award winning artist LK.Phipps (Loni). Her imagery ranges from vintage vehicles of the 60’s to digital creations using the technology of today.
Loni began her art journey with film in a darkroom before exploring the ability to manipulate images digitally. Her favorite subjects are cars, motorcycles, nature and landscapes. Some images convey a feeling of wonder and mystery with no need for alterations. Other images are digitally enhanced using rich saturated color to create surreal images. She also experiments creating digital paintings using algorithm, digital components and custom digital brushes.
This free event includes complimentary wine and retro hors d'oeuvres and a chance to meet Loni and other gallery artists. The Downtown Art Gallery presents the work of 14 local artists as well as fine art printing and custom framing. Selections on display include painting, photography, digital art, jewelry, basketry and more. The Gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 11 am to 3 pm.
