Call for Art

Kaleidoscope is an annual juried show open to all artists who are over 18 years of age, and are full time or seasonal Florida residents.

The exhibit will be on display at the Art and Antique Studio Gallery April 6 -28, 2018. Opening reception and awards ceremony is 5:30- 8:30 pm on Friday, April 6, 2018.

No more than 50 works will be accepted into the exhibit. A panel of three jurors will jury the exhibit and a separate judge will select the award. Over $1,500 in prize money will be awarded.

All 2 D and 3 D mediums are eligible (Please note restrictions and exceptions). All work must be appropriate for viewing by all ages.

Entry Fee: $35.00 for the first entry, $20.00 for the second entry. NO MORE THAN TWO ENTRIES ALLOWED PER ARTIST.

Eligible Art: All mediums welcome, size for 2-D and 3-D art should not exceed 46” in any direction. All artwork must be an original work by entry artist, presented in a professional manner, and for sale. No class projects will be accepted. All artwork must be created after 2014 and not have been previously exhibited at the Art and Antique Studio in any show. A 30% commission is charged by the Art and Antique Studio Gallery for all sales in exhibit.

3-D Artists may furnish display pedestal; Art and Antique has limited number of pedestals for small sculptures. Total height for 3 D should not exceed 84” including pedestal.

2-D Art requiring protection from elements must be behind Plexiglas. No glass will be accepted. All 2-D must be ready to hang. No saw tooth hangers or eye bolts allowed. Use flat hangers and picture wire only.

All art should be securely labeled with label provided. 2-D art should place label in upper right hand corner on back of entry. 3-D art should place label on bottom of entry. Labels provided at check-in.

Important Dates:
March 17, APPLICATION DEADLINE: Application with liability release form, images of work (on CD or flash drive), and entry fee must be delivered to Gallery by 4:00 PM either by mail or hand delivered. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED.

March 23: Notice of acceptance will be sent out and posted on Website.

March 29-30: Accepted artwork delivery: Artwork must be delivered between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM on these dates. If applicant needs to deliver entry early, contact Gretchen at 317-445-2926 to make such arrangements. No late deliveries will be accepted.

April 6: Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony 5:30 - 8:30 PM.

May 1-2: Artwork should be picked up between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM on these dates. The Art and Antique Studio has very limited storage space for artwork. A $5.00 per piece, per day storage fee will be charged for any entries not picked up by 4:00 PM, May 2.

Application process: All items listed below must be completed and delivered by 4:00 PM, March 17 to be juried into the exhibition .

1. Images: All images should have the artist’s name and title on the digital file title line. All images should be 300DPI and no larger than 1200 pixels in any direction. All images should be filed on a CD or flash drive with artist’s name clearly on it. The flash drives or CDs can be returned if requested. Otherwise, they will be destroyed.

2. Entry Fee: All entry fees should be paid by check or money order made out to Art and Antique Studio, memo line: Kaleidoscope. One entry: $35.00, two entries $55.00. This entry fee is non-refundable and will not be returned if entry is not accepted into the exhibit.

The undersigned does hereby release and hold harmless The Art and Antique Studio, Inc., and any of their representatives, for any and all manner of actions, suits, damages, or claims arising from any damages or loss of artwork belonging to the undersigned. Artists are responsible for insuring their own artwork.
