Eau Gallie Arts District is busy preparing for 10 days of creativity and activity for all ages. Beginning Friday, November 24, the Anti-Gravity Project, where multiple murals will be installed, will kick off at Intracoastal Brewing Company at 6:30 pm. This mural festival will unite international, national and local artists and community volunteers in an explosion of creativity.
The festival ends Saturday, December 2 with an Anti-Block party happening from Noon – 10 pm. Highland Avenue will be closed to traffic, and the entire arts district will be abuzz with live mural painting, art demonstrations, music, gallery exhibitions, illustration battles, interactive games, a moon bounce and pop-up shops. This entire event is free and open to the public thanks to our title sponsor, Craig Technologies. Check the website or Facebook event page for daily events or visit the EGAD office in the arts district. Donations of any amount are always appreciated, and sponsorships are available online.
Our annual Holiday Tree Lighting is Friday night, December 1 from 6-10 pm. Santa will be delivered via special carrier to the delight of everyone. The shops and galleries on Highland Avenue are ready for you with creative, original holiday gifts for everyone.
EGAD is also raffling off a muralized 2006 Mazda 5 Touring Minivan for just $25 a ticket, five for $100 and 10 for $200. The winner will drive away in an original, fully-functional piece of art. Tickets are available on the event website and the winner will be called Saturday evening, December 2.
