The Chinese province of Guizhou is home to one of the largest concentrations of Hmong people (classified as “Miao” in China). Join us for an illustrated lecture discussing the commodification of their art and culture and its social implications.

Professor Wanfa Zhang is an expert in international politics. Before he joined Florida Tech in 2008, he taught at the University of Alabama (2003-2008) and China Foreign Affairs University (1993-1999). He has taught courses in international relations, comparative politics, political science, American foreign policy, American politics, and Western civilization. He previously worked as a research assistant collecting data for the prestigious Correlates of War (COW) project, which is the most widely used database for quantitative study of international conflict.
