Popular events return to Main Street Cocoa Beach Art Show, Shop Small Saturday to kick-off Holidays

Downtown Cocoa Beach is the place to be Thanksgiving weekend for unique art, great music, delicious food and shopping both from vendors at the annual Cocoa Beach Art Show and local businesses.

Festivities kick off at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, with the annual Turkey Trot 5K race. Friday night is a street party with music and food. The Art Show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with talented artists competing for over $15,000 in prizes.

November 25 is also “Shop Small Saturday,” a day for local businesses to shine.

“When consumers ‘shop local,’ the multiplier effect really benefits the community”, says Beth Javens, Cocoa Beach Main Street Executive Director.  “According to research provided by the National Federation of Independent Business, for every $100 spent, $48 spent in a local business reaches the local community versus $100 spent online where only $1 reaches the local community. Strong downtown districts are attractive for economic development.”

And you don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving to check out another fun event downtown: The annual “Sip-n-Stroll” is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 4. Held only twice a year, over 30 businesses are scheduled to participate. Pedi-cabs will be on site as an option for getting around! Tickets are $35 plus taxes and fees available on
