The Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach, announces their featured artists for the month of September. Linda Z and Wendy Barnes
Linda Z studied graphic design and photography at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C. She has always been drawn to water, growing up near the Chesapeake Bay and now living on the Indian River. Her subject is nature and she uses various mediums to depict the wonder and symmetry of the ocean, river, shells, flowers, sunrise and sunset. She has a studio and gallery in Cocoa Village and enjoys teaching children both there and at the Studios of Cocoa Beach.
Wendy Barnes has a professional career in interior and textile design, a degree in architecture from Northeastern and a Master’s in Real Estate Development from NYU. Now living in Melbourne, Wendy’s interest in conservation and a deep respect for wildlife have led her to become the Program Coordinator for Women of the Wild at Brevard Zoo.
Wendy’s goal as an artist is to create original textiles which transform interiors into a connection with wildlife and a reminder of the need to conserve the environment. To this end she prints her bold pen and ink designs onto fabric and creates pillows, tabletop accessories and more. Her original drawings are also available. 10% of every item sold goes to an associated wildlife cause.
