South Beaches Gallery in Melbourne Beach, announces an open call for the submission of work to complement the Gallery’s current exhibition program. They are accepting applications for Guest Artists to join us on a quarterly basis.
They are seeking artists working in all media, technique and style and they offer a unique opportunity for artists to exhibit multiple pieces in dedicated display areas.
South Beaches Gallery endeavors to provide a venue for emerging and established artists of exceptional quality and awareness. As well as present all collectors, new or experienced, fun, exciting and unique fine art at a reasonable price.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: SEPTEMBER 20th, 2017
$300.00 participation fee for 7 linear feet across and 7 linear high and 5 linear feet across and 6.5 liner feet high (two walls), payable over 3 months
$200.00 participation fee for 7’ linear feet across and 8’ linear feet high (1 wall), payable over three months
$150.00 participation fee for three 16”x16” pedestals or floor space. Payable over three months.
The Gallery uses social media, and postcard mailing lists to advertise shows and contact prior buyers. Guest Artists may submit up to 50 post office or unlimited email addresses to South Beaches Gallery for inclusion in our electronic and mailed publicity.
No commissions will be charged.
Admission to all South Beaches Gallery shows is free of charge, handicapped accessible, air conditioned with free parking.
South Beaches Gallery reserves the right to decline all submissions and to cancel this request for proposals or any pre-qualified pool, at any time.
A complete application will only be accepted via email.
Individual applicants must email all of the following to firstname.lastname@example.org, under the subject “SBG Guest Artist”. Submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
· Artistic merit
· Appropriateness and feasibility with regard to the Gallery exhibition space.
· Availability of applicants for scheduled installation and de-installation.
Included with the application:
· 1 Artist’s Resumé, one (1) pages maximum.
· All contact information (name, address, phone, email address).
· An artist's statement and/or other background material.
· A minimum 10 and maximum 20 images of your work, one image per page of single PDF or single WORD file. (Website links are not accepted for images.) Please reduce image size so emails do not exceed 10MB in size. Be sure to integrate image captions into the image presentation.
Captions should include:
o a title
o media and any other descriptive clarifying information for each work.
All Artists record their sales and process them through the gallery’s credit card /POS device.
All participating artists will receive payment on sales within 10 days of the end of each month.
Artists with sales in excess of $600 will receive a form 1099.
The Gallery provides insurance coverage for bodily injury while attending the shows. The Gallery does not provide insurance coverage for theft or damage to member or guest artists inventory of work.
There is no budget available to cover artist’s expenses.
