The Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach, announces their featured artists for the month of July: painter Ed Carlson and fiber artist Ann Welly Revels.
Ed Carlson is an award winning Watercolor artist. His paintings often portray nautical and tropical scenes reflecting Ed’s life cruising the waters of Florida and the Bahamas. Ed says,” I love the magic of watercolors and the unique way the medium captures the essence of the tropics.” He currently resides on the land in Satellite Beach and shares his 15 years of painting experience through his popular watercolor classes.
Ann Welly Revels is a weaver and papermaker whose current work is making vessels from palm fiber. She lives in Titusville but collects her material along the roadside in Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach. The baskets are embellished with seed pods,shells, feathers and other natural items or with wood burned images of area flora and fauna. Her pieces reflect her love of nature and concern for the environment..
The exhibit runs through the month of July. The Studios of Cocoa Beach is a non-profit cooperative gallery features 35 plus local artists and offers a full schedule of workshops in a variety of techniques for both adults and children.
