Melbourne, FL – The masterful paintings of Virginia Mikenas will be featured in the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts, Harris Corporation Art Gallery from May 22 – June 18 as she presents Music of the Arts. This exhibit may be viewed by ticketed patrons attending King Center main stage performances. Mikenas will be in the gallery to personally guide you through her works.

Born in Lithuania and raised in Toronto, Virginia Mikenas has been involved in the arts since childhood. She studied art and pottery at the Philadelphia College of Art and Design, the Fleisher Memorial Art School and George Brown College. Studying piano since the age of 5, Virginia graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

A passion for music inspires most of her paintings. Musical instruments, symbols or musicians seem to be a focus in her art as music, painting, pottery are all artistic expressions in different forms and are rhythmically connected.

Virginia’s work has been included in many juried exhibitions and has also won awards. She is a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society and has exhibited at the Appleton Museum of Art, the Museum of Arts and Sciences - Daytona Beach, the Brevard Art Museum and the Henegar Center in Melbourne, Florida.  She also has been invited to jury several art shows. She currently belongs to the Studio Artists Group and lives in Melbourne Beach, Florida.
