Exhibit dates: October 4-30, 2016
Due to Hurricane Matthew's timing, Fifth Avenue Art Gallery is hosting the delayed opening reception for Visions of Italy, art work by Phyllis Shipley, this coming Friday, the 14th of October. Please come share in an artistic celebration of art and color with Phyllis. This opening will be held in conjunction with Art & Antiques Gallery's "Introduction of their Annual Calendar for 2017 - original art exhibit- and Derek Gores' Gallery.
Come from 5:30 pm through 8:30 pm and meet Phyllis. She will be present to discuss her work, her methods and her enthusiasm for creating art.
Phyllis has been producing fine art for the past thirty years and has been a gallery owner, an art show participant and award winner, and a continuing student in the details of water color and acrylics. A native of Johnson City, Tennessee, she uses her intuition to create loose and flowing colors with a musical fluidity of expression. Phyllis began painting in the early 1980’s. After years of playing and teaching music with the organ and piano, raising children, and a successful career as a purchasing executive with a major chemical corporation, the time was right to pursue her dream and passion. Painting for her is like a musical score, expressing emotion and beauty with the brush as the melody rings in our ears.
She is presently an exhibiting member at the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery and also currently an exhibiting artist at the newly opened Art Avenue Gallery located in Sarasota, Florida. She is further represented by the Liz-Beth Gallery of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Visions of Italy will run from October 4 through October 30. Fifth Avenue Art Gallery is located in the Eau Gallie Arts District in Melbourne, FL.
