Ted Matz Plein Air Workshop presented by The Art Students' Guild of Brevard

TED MATZ
PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP
PRESENTED BY THE ART STUDENTS’ GUILD OF BREVARD
OCTOBER 15th and 16th  
9AM-12PM and 1PM- 4PM

The focus of the workshop is to help each participant understand key elements of hue, value, and temperature. The artist will learn how to make colors stronger and more saturated, pushing values for more dramatic impact and to control the temperature of the painting for the overall effect that is has on the interpretation of the painting.
You will learn how to take a painting from “OK” to “GREAT”.
The class is open to any medium. Each day will begin with a demo illustrating core plein air principles. Each participant will get one-on-one advice. There will be group discussion and critique at the end of each day.
Note: In the event of inclement weather, the participant must bring with them several reference photos of landscapes.
The cost of the workshop is $225 for Guild Members and $275 for non-members.This is due by September 15, 2016

Ted Matz calls Lake Worth, Florida his home and is currently the Chair of Painting and Drawing at the Lighthouse Art Center Museum and School of Art in Tequesta, Florida where he teaches watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, pastels and plein air painting.  Ted also teaches at the Boca Museum School of Art in Boca Raton, Florida where he teaches watercolor and plein air painting.  He has taught classes and workshops in Michigan and Vermont, and currently does domestic and international workshops in Massachusetts, Maine, Italy and France.  
He majored in Watercolor at the Eastern Michigan University and also studied at Kendall College of Art and Design.  He has worked in design related positions with Jacobson’s Store, Inc, Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor.
He chaired and coordinated the First, Second and Third Annual Lighthouse ArtCenter’s Plein Air Festival in Tequesta/Jupiter Florida and is currently working on the 4th Annual Festival.  The event brings 50 nationally recognized artists from across the country and Europe to compete for $10,000 in prize awards.
