Art Gallery of Viera's Featured Artist for June: Laura Kucharyson

Art Gallery of Viera is proud to present our Featured Artist for June 2016
Laura Kucharyson

Laura Kucharyson has been a member of the Art Gallery of Viera since January 2013. After teaching music for over 22 years, her husband, Michael, encouraged her to pursue art, a passion she has leaned on from the time she was a young child. At the age of 12, Laura was introduced to oil painting by an accomplished artist, Evelyn Adams in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mrs. Adams’ attention to detail, mixing of colors and the beauty of God’s creation was all that Laura needed to advance her creativity. A new adventure began at the Art Gallery of Viera, taking lessons from a world renowned pallet knife artist, Robert Lebron. In October of 2012, one of her paintings, “Aspen Grove”, was entered in Brush to Success through the Art Gallery of Viera, and a few months later, Laura found herself a member.
"Always surround yourself with others who are better than you in your craft so you can continue challenging yourself and never think you are too old to learn." This mindset has inspired Laura to study under several accomplished artists in the Brevard area as well as learning from the influence of the many artists who are a part of the Art Gallery of Viera. On Friday mornings, you will find her teaching “Oils with Laura”. Laura will often say that a teacher learns as much from the students as they do from the instructor. One unique item that you will find included in all of her art work is a scripture verse. One verse is easier to find than another so let your search begin. It is Laura’s passion to continue painting God's creation and to share this with others. It is her love for God, family, friends and sharing joy to others that motivates Laura to paint.
