Each week students will create a project based on an aspect of history or culture. This series covers Atmosphere, Earth, Water, Adventure, and Home.
The first 5 week series launches from the Renaissance, with the topic Atmosphere leading into a painting with atmospheric perspective. For Water, students will make mosaics inspired by Venice. Earth--marble sculptures- make a plaque; Adventure--allegoric painting and sketchbook studies by daVinci. Home--art made for practical purposes, such as an altar, or treasure box.
Students will enjoy creating paintings, collages, handmade prints, and other crafts inspired by a brief (10 minute) slide show. Scholder will demonstrate and guide students through the projects.
Classes will meet on Wednesdays; May 4-June 1, 2016; 9:30-11:30am.
Course fee: $40.00 for 5 weeks, includes materials for class.
