Camera Club of Brevard: May Meeting and April Winners

The Camera Club of Brevard will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. at the Eau Gallie Civic Center, 1551 Highland Ave. in Melbourne. The evening’s program will be “Creativity With Your Smart Phone,” presented by Kim Hunt. Kim’s interest in photography began in 1981 when she took her first black and white photography class in high school.  She was fascinated seeing a blank piece of photographic paper magically developing into an image.  Kim knew from that moment on that photography was to be a big part of her life.  Consequently, her interest in this subject has grown steadily throughout the years.

In 1986, Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University.  Working as a professional photographer, Kim earned her way up the corporate ladder in retail management, supervising up to twenty-five portrait studios.  To further her education, she completed the photography program at McFatter Technical School in Davie, Florida, in 1997 and continued to pursue her interests in alternative photographic processes through ongoing workshops.  In May 2003, Kim graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in photography at Barry University.
Kim has taught photography classes at Palm Beach Photographic Center, Barry University, Brevard Community College and Adult Continuing Education. Kim was chosen for the "Artist In Residency" program with Brevard Cultural Alliance for 3 years.  In addition, Kim’s photographs have been exhibited and published in the Sun Sentinel newspaper, View Camera magazine, City Link advertisements, the Palm Beach Photographic Center, Barry University, Society of Photographic Art juried art competitions, Alliance Fran├žaise of Miami, LoPressionism Gallery,  “Art in Public Places” through Brevard Cultural Alliance and King Center’s Harris Gallery.
The April photo contest theme was open. Winners are shown above.

Also, there was a Creative Class in which members submited photos that have been obviously manipulated to present an altered reality image from the original photograph. Creative Class winners are shown above.
The CCB meets the first Tuesday of each month (except December) at 6:30 p.m. at the Eau Gallie Civic Center, 1551 Highland Ave. in historic Eau Gallie. Guests are always welcome. If a guest becomes a member at a meeting, he or she is entitled to immediately enter our photo contests. For more information please see
