Join Jon while he's determined to help you reach the later stages of portrait painting by inviting you to paint one model for five days. This extended workshop is designed to bring you to the finishing phase of painting an oil portrait. He will review other techniques used earlier in the process, such as flesh tone color theory, mixing color palettes, and the use of values, to help you reach the finishing stages.

Brushes - Bring brushes you like. Jon recommends an assortment of sizes in filberts and flats and prefers Silver and Robert Simmons brands.
Thinner - FRESH odorless Mineral Spirits of artist's quality, such as Gamsol or Mona Lisa. No "citrus" scented stuff or turpentine please.
Wooden or glass with a grey backing are recommended.
A panel, canvas board or canvas in either size 11 x14 or 16 x 20 is recommended. If your chosen surface is not pre-primed, please apply your primer at least 2 days ahead of time.
Paper towels or rags, palette knives, and anything else you like to use.
