Gretchen Ten Eyck Hunt exhibits "Local Color, Life in Brevard County" at Art and Antique Studio and Gallery in March 2016

Art and Antique welcomes Gretchen Ten Eyck Hunt during the month of March 2016.

The focus of   “Local Color, “Life in Brevard County” was to capture the lifestyle of Brevard County.  The technique created for this series uses bright clear colors and line work to capture the  whimsical , carefree living there . I hope the series shows what a wonderful place we are lucky to live at.   The intent in my art is to bring joy, while lifting the spirit of the viewer.  You can view her work at .

Gretchen loves to explore the possibilities of creating.  To her, Art is the shear joy of creating with no intent or purpose beyond the act of creating.  Gretchen communicates to the viewer through color, design, and imagination.  When Gretchen starts a concept or approach she does a series of pieces to develop a specific look to that series.  Her colorful and thought out pieces touch the viewer’s senses triggering lasting memories while stimulating their imagination.

This accomplished artist was born in Bloomington, Ill, and grew up in Gainesville, Florida. She began her studies at the age of seven under the tutelage of Cramer Swords , MFA while he was working on his masters.  She received certification in Commercial Art from Art Instructions Schools and earned her BA focusing on visual Fine arts From Flagler College, St. Augustine, Fl.     Gretchen sold her first work of art at the age of 12 and hung in her first Professional juried competition at the age of 14.
