Flagler's Matt Beyrer to Rock
Ocean Art Gallery in October
Creative Mixed Media Artist Adds
New Dimensions and a Sharp Edge
FLAGLER BEACH, FL – Ocean Art Gallery continues to push the artistic envelope by attracting the most talented artists from near and far. The most recent example is Palm Coast mixed media artist Matt Beyrer, whose powerful blending of dramatic and colorful images challenges the senses.
Born in Winter Park, Florida, his family moved to the Hammock area of Flagler County in 1989. Matt graduated from the prestigious Ringling School of Art in 2006 with a BFA in Illustration. His art career has followed several avenues, but always finds him returning to the coast of northeast Florida where he enjoys surfing. A recent example is his just-completed seven-month assignment as the Master Artist for Celebrity Cruise Lines on board its Silhouette and Reflection ships visiting the East and West Caribbean, the entire Mediterranean, and the British Isles.
Beyrer’s inspiration comes from the power of nature. He said, “The breeze on your face, sun in your eyes, or just sitting on a board out in the ocean looking in on the land gives me incredible ideas for paintings.” His art is collected by a diverse audience who value his fascination with light, color and composition, which he believes the combination of in a single piece of art defines a painting as being complete.
The artist will welcome guests from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, October 2nd and will demonstrate his painting technique. Guests will enjoy refreshments and live music. As always, art events at Ocean Art Gallery are free.
Ocean Art Gallery is located at 200 S. Oceanshore Blvd, Flagler Beach, across the street from the Flagler Beach Pier. Normal hours are 12 – 6 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, and Monday by appointment. 386-693-4882.
