Palm Coast Artist Connects with His Creator

FLAGLER BEACH, FL – On Friday, August 7th, 6 – 9 PM, Palm Coast artist Kenny Fasnacht opens his one-person show “The Magical Color Palette of His Creator” at Ocean Art Gallery, 200 S. Oceanshore Blvd. (A1A), Flagler Beach, across from the historic Flagler Beach Pier. The show will run from August 5th – 31st and is free to the public.

Fasnacht began his professional art career late in life but is rapidly gaining a strong reputation for his dynamic, colorful photographs of landscapes on canvas and, more recently, on metal. Artists sometimes have momentous events in their lives that create dramatic changes and Fasnacht had just such an occurrence. Working through it, he recognized that a closer connection with a higher power was necessary in his life. He opened himself to a greater religious experience than he had ever had, with the result being a deeper appreciation for the natural landscapes of Flagler County.

Fasnacht began to appreciate nature in a more spiritual way as he recognized the role his Creator played in everything he was seeing through his camera lens. In time, Fasnacht clearly recognized the direct connection between his beliefs and his photographs. His photographic art is not “religious art,” nor does he talk about the spiritual essence behind his work, unless asked. Yet, there is an obvious connection that resides in the titles of his artwork. Pieces bearing names such as "His Path" and "Walk with Me" are current examples.

“Walk with Me,” a 36” x 24” image of Princess Place Preserve on a polished aluminum panel, valued at $1200, has been donated by Fasnacht to be raffled during his art show. All proceeds will benefit the Flagler Beach Photography Club’s Joseph Delarosby Photography Scholarship which helps anyone . Club president Ed Siarkowicz praised Fasnacht’s talent and his generous contribution of “Walk with Me” for the raffle. Tickets ($10/1 or $25/3) may be purchased at Ocean Art Gallery throughout August and the drawing will be held at the gallery during its September art opening reception for Michelle Palmucci on 9/4/2015.

After retiring from a 20-year career in the Navy, Fasnacht coached football at Nease High School in St. Augustine for five years before moving to Palm Coast with his wife, Lee. He is an active member of the Flagler Beach Photography Club (past president) and has shown his art at Ocean Art Gallery since 2014.

Everyone is invited to meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments while viewing his stunning artwork. Flagler Beach’s First Friday “Music in the Park” will be in session right around the corner and there are over 12 restaurants within five blocks of the gallery.
