A Show of Hands at Art and Antique Studio and Gallery in June

“A Time Remembered” by Mike Bullock”

Art and Antique Studio and Gallery, 1419 Highland Avenue, celebrates 11 years in Eau Gallie with the exhibit with paintings by their current gallery members illustrating Hands That Tell a Story.  The exhibit will open, Friday, June 5, during the monthly art walk (5:30-8:30) and will hang for the entire month of June.  The public is invited to an evening of celebration with food and music.

Eleven years ago, the co-op gallery (Art and Antique Studio and Gallery) began with co-founders, Therese Payne Ferguson and Debbie Bowes McElwain.  The object was to have a working studio where artists could create, teach and invite the public to meet them personally.

Celebrating its 11th anniversary the gallery looks forward to showcasing the outstanding talent Brevard County has to offer, presenting (hundreds of exhibits) with the works of local and out-of-town artists on a monthly basis.

Today, the artist-run gallery has achieved a very unique look combining antique furniture and glass with fine art, to the koi pond floor that the members painted.  Many of the artists have a history of winning awards locally, statewide and nationally. Art collectors often return to pick up new works from their favorite artists as well as commissions.

President, Therese Ferguson said “The secret to the success of our gallery is the wide-range of talents here and the artists themselves.  They are a great bunch of people who are passionate about their art and work really great together."

The gallery is partners with the Courtyard Studio, where classes are taught and studio space is available on an on-going basis.
