Eau Gallie Arts District Hosts First Friday on May 1 - Celebrate Uno de Mayo in the Arts District

The Eau Gallie Arts District Main Street (EGAD!) celebrates the First Friday of May with Uno de Mayo, with music, vendors and food, plus all shops, restaurants and galleries are open late. First Friday is free and open to the public. The festivities get underway at 6:30 pm and end at 9:30 pm and occur along Highland Avenue and in Eau Gallie Rotary Park. Many galleries have special exhibits. Fifth Avenue Art Gallery is pleased to present the art of award-winning Orlando artist, Mindy Colton. Originally from New York City, Ms. Colton was classically trained in all the traditional arts. She pursued a career in Graphic Design & illustration, but followed her true passion as a fine artist. She is known for her unique sculptural horses and large outdoor art.

The Foosaner Art Museum hosts Jazz Friday on May 1 with Richard Abrahams from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Admission to the museum is free. During the same time, at the Renee Foosaner Education Center, is the Spring Student Pottery Sale. Work for sale will include small, hand-built sculpture, as well as functional pottery such as teapots, cups, mugs, plates, vases and bowls. Prices will range from $5-$100. All work is made by ceramic students or faculty.
Come fiesta with EGAD!
