Ione's love for the arts started as a child as she watched her father, an engineer, dabble in oil and watercolor painting. That was the beginning. She enrolled in art classes through high school and college and when she married, she took classes with local artists to continue her studies.Later, she began working with people with disabilities and taught them crafts and watercolor painting. After 40 years, Ione retired and looks forward to working with just watercolors. "I find learning to control this medium both fascinating and challenging, yet it gives me the freedom to produce lovely colors in my paintings."
