Susan Kessler was born in Boston and grew up in Natick, Massachusetts.
She took her first watercolor class in 1998 and has been painting ever since! She finds watercolor both exciting and unpredictable. Susan finds each painting an adventure and an intuitive process as she chooses the colors and techniques. She hopes to delight the viewer and invites them into her creative process! Susan enjoys painting a variety of subjects including commissioned work, such as portraits of favorite pets. "I work to portray the inner spirit of the subject."
In addition to showing at Art and Antique Studio, Susan has participated in local art shows such as the Melbourne and ArtWorks events. She was a member of Art Gallery and Studio in Melbourne, Florida, for 4 years. Susan has taught watercolor since 2005 including three year tenure with the Brevard Cultural Alliance program as an Artist Resident. She currently teaches watercolor class at The Courtyard Studio at 1419 Highland Avenue Thursdays from 10:00 am to Noon.
