Exhibit runs: September 30 to October 31
Opening Reception: Friday, October 3, 2014, 5:30 to 8:30 pm
The gallery looks amazing! As you walk in and look to the left you will see Ellen's works in process. Big, solid figures in clay are emerging. Parts of the body are taking shape and being formed. The Fifth Avenue's front gallery looks so alive! It is a sight not to be missed.
To see Ellen's sculptures being created, come down to the gallery on Wednesday afternoons in October from 1 to 4pm when Ellen will be working on the figures.
The figure is Ellen's vehicle of expression. There is a continuing thread of concern with human emotions through most of her work. Through a link to the classical Greek, a positive feeling of the human experience and glorification of life communicates directly to the viewer.
Ellen Pavlakos, one of the long standing members in the gallery, is internationally acclaimed and collected. The gallery has many bronze pieces of her work. Pavlakos' sculptures are exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the state of Florida and she has competed and exhibited in many statewide and national competitions as well as in Paris, France, Athens and Thessalonica, Greece and Nicosia, Cyprus.
The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery, across from the Foosaner Art Museum in EGAD, the Eau Gallie Arts District, is the premiere art gallery in Brevard County. They will be celebrating their Fortieth Anniversary in February 2015.
