Eau Gallie Arts District Main Street News - Highland Market

MELBOURNE FL—The Eau Gallie Arts District (EGAD) has exciting events happening on Highland Avenue this fall. Starting Friday, October 24, their normal Saturday Farmer’s Market is expanding to two days—Friday and Saturday—and is renamed HIGHLAND MARKET to reflect the variety of vendors. Highland Market will showcase a diverse selection of produce, food artisans, high quality hand-crafted items and more.  Highland Market will always be in the Eau Gallie Square on Highland Avenue in the Eau Gallie Arts District, which is at the western base of the Eau Gallie Causeway.

There are two First Fridays left in this year and both are packed with live entertainment, strolling on Highland Avenue through the shops and galleries. In November, the first of six kiosks will be installed in Pineapple Park that commemorate the Indian River Lagoon Scenic Byway. That will be on Pineapple Avenue next to Eau Gallie Library. In December, the Eau Gallie High School Band will entertain from the band shell along with the choir from St. Paul’s Methodist Church. A certain fat man will be there to greet children of all ages. Festivities for both run from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Both are free and open to the public. Don’t forget to bring cash for the food vendors.

EGAD also plays host to the Junior League’s annual Festival of Trees at the Foosaner Museum of Art on November 15-16 this year. Christmas trees decorated by local designers will be on display throughout the museum. Admission is $5 both days. Please visit their website for full details.

USA TODAY named ArtWorks of Eau Gallie the #1 event on the space coast and Highland Avenue will be closed for two days to host this curated ‘plein-air’ art show, where artists exhibit their skills with public demonstrations as well as offer very high quality works of art in many forms. This event is free and open to the public. There will also be live music and other entertainment for all ages. For complete information, please visit their website.
