Derek Gores host to Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Branch

Derek Gores to host Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Branch of national art drawing movement in Eau Gallie Arts District.
Inaugural Event on September 19, 2014

MELBOURNE FL-Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School is the world's premier alternative drawing movement. Founded in 2005 in a dive bar in Brooklyn by a 22 year old art school drop out who found traditional drawing classes stifling, Dr. Sketchy's is where cabaret meets art school. There are three primary elements - "drawing, drinks and dames."

Derek Gores has been awarded a branch of Dr. Sketchy's, and will host the inaugural drawing event at his gallery in the Eau Gallie Arts District on Friday, September 19, 2014, from 7-9 pm. Gores' gallery is located at 587 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Suite 101.  For complete information, please visit
Attendance will be $10 advance sale online and $15 at the door. All details are on the website and Facebook . All future drawing nights will be the second Friday of each month and will rotate between three locations in the Eau Gallie Art District.

Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School believes drawing is solid fun and a good thing to do, whether or not you are a professional artist. It believes good art doesn't need to be done in an atmosphere of professional sterility. Dr. Sketchy's combines theater and visual arts with artists and hobbyists of all stripes. In fact, the crossing of boundaries is essential to a good show.
