Art and Antique Gallery “LIFE SCAPES” – by the J.U.G.S (JUST US GIRLS)

Pat Hemphill, Jinny Loper, Diana Greco, and Jeanne Painter Johnson have a combined 330 years of life and artistic talent to GO ALONG WITH IT.  April’s show by the J.U.G.s (Just Us Girls) proves that art/creativity has no age limits. Over time, the composition of the group has changed, but it has always been limited to six women.

The four women in the current exhibition have been creating art together for 20 years, beginning locally with teacher Louise Cherwak. These four ladies have varied art backgrounds.

Watercolorist Jinny Loper, a veteran of many local outdoor shows, drew comic books when she was enrolled in Abbott Art School.

Diana Greco studied at the New York High School of Music and Arts, the Art Students League and Phoenix School of Design.

Experimental artist Jeanne Painter Johnson started drawing early, majored in art at Mississippi State College and has shown art from Alabama to Okinawa and in between. She and Pat Hemphill are award winning members of the Strawbridge Art League (SAL).

Pat Hemphill came to art later in life with classes at the Smithsonian and Cochran School of Art in Washington DC and has won awards at local juried shows. This eclectic show illustrates how artists who work within a group can inspire each other to new approaches.

Gallery Walk begins 5:30 – 8:30,  April 4, 2014-Art  and Antique Studio – 1419 Highland Avenue – Refreshments
