Jewelry Designs of Lois Mittleman at Fifth Avenue Art Gallery

Exhibit runs: April 1 to April 26

Opening Reception: First Friday Event, April 4, 5:30 to 8:30pm

Opening on April 1, the jewelry designs of Lois Mittleman will fill the front exhibit room of the Fifth Avenue Gallery.  Many of you are familiar with Lois’s jewelry and may even own some of her designs.  On April 1 you will be able to see the wide variety of the pieces Lois creates.

You will see new and unusual stones:  Black Tourmaline, Script Stone, Amethyst Padre Paraiso, Argonite, Pink Sapphires, Prehnite with Epidote and Ethiopian Fluorite.

You will see new and current gemstone cuts such as collar-style plates and natural rough cut Rubies, Apatite and Fluorite.

And of course, lots of the regular stuff will be in the show – Pearls, Rubies, Emeralds and Sapphires, Tanzanite and Tourmalines, Jasper, American Turquoise from the Sleeping Beauty and Kingman mines, quartz, and even a few Black Diamonds.

Gemstones inspire Lois.  When beginning a new piece of jewelry, the gemstone rules.  Her designs are based on the beauty, color and shape of the stones and that theme is evident in the majority of Lois’s work.

During our Second  Saturday, April 12, 2014 1 PM event Lois will be talking about "What I know ( and don't know) about Gemstones". You will have a chance to see and touch gemstones you know and those you have never heard of.
