Barbara Milford "Electic" at Art and Antique Studio and Gallery in February

Melbourne Beach artist Barbara Milford grew up in Hamburg, Germany, and was always interested in impressionists and modern art.   Her inspiration to paint, however, came from her visits to the southwest United States where she enjoyed the bright clear colors of the beautiful sunny countryside of Sedona.  Barbara became part of the Art Circle and showed her paintings in the Sedona Art Museum.

Barbara has learned from some of the best, having taken workshops in pastels with  Dough Dawson, Elsie Dresch and Marsha Savage.  She attended workshops from contemporary, Frits van Eeden and Anne Templeton to the impressionists William Schultz, Lois Griffel, Howard Carr and Charles Sovek.

Barbara is a member of the Strawbridge Art League, Foosener Art Museum, Sedona Art Center, Toxaway Art League (NC) and the Vero Beach Museum of Art.  Locally, however, she was a member of “Aid for the Art”, the fundraising arm of what is known today as the Foosener Art Museum.  She served on the acquisition committee and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Her artwork has been shown at the Upfront Gallery, Eau Gallie Yact Club, Sedona Art Museum, Public Library in Cocoa Beach, Alla Prima Styling Group and Lake Toxaway Country Club.
