Live models are essential for the figure sculptor. All levels students can enjoy step-by-step instruction in building an armature and creating a full figure or portrait ceramic sculpture. We emphasize classical realism as well as modern semi-abstract trends. Each week we review and analyze modern figurative sculpture as well as classic forms. All students will complete at least one portrait or figure by the end of class. Model fee extra and collected at first class. Due to various sizes of work produced, clay and firing fees are not included. Bags of clay $25 each, Firing fees determined by size of project.
Georgi Gelalles has an M.F.A. from Florida State University majoring in painting and sculpture. Her work has been shown in many shows in NYC as well as in Melbourne. She has taught mixed media, painting and sculpture to children and adults for many years.
