Ellen Lindner’s “Crotons” Making the Rounds

Ellen Lindner’s fabric collage, “Crotons,” has been traveling to a variety of exhibits.  The first stop was the International Quilt Festival, in Houston, where Lindner’s piece was a finalist.  This exhibit is very prestigious, as the selection competition is quite stiff.

From there, “Crotons” came home for a brief stint in “Around the Neighborhood,” an exhibit which Lindner staged in her home.  Much of her work is inspired by the local foliage in the area, including that in her neighbors’ yards.  Therefore, she hung this exhibit as a way to introduce them to her art.  The opening reception served this purpose very well, and it was also a fun neighborhood event.

Since then, this colorful piece has been on display as part of “Point of View,” an exhibit at the David A. Stein Jewish Community Alliance, in Jacksonville, FL.  This show continues through January 8th, 2014.

More of Ellen Lindner’s vivid foliage work may be seen on her website,
