“GETTING BACK TO COLOR” is what you will see in the beautiful paintings by local award winning artist - Sandy Johnson – during the month of November at Art and Antique Studio and Gallery.
Sandy’s oils, pastels, and watercolors will keep you, the viewer engaged with each medium. Sandy’s use of warm against cool, texture against smooth, thick against thin with lost and found edges reflect her skills in each medium.
Sandy Johnson is an award winning, full time professional artist and teacher. Originally from Queensland, Australia, she has resided in Florida for more than 30 years. After years of accomplishments her greatest satisfactions were her exhibits at Wilson Adams Gallery, Denver, and Solo show at Brevard Art Museum, Florida. PSA, Louise Melrose Gallery Award, 2004, and Saks Gallery, Denver with the American Impressionists Society Show, juried by Quang Ho, ( 2009) where she received an Honorable Mention. In 2012 she was selected for juried show, Pastel Society of America in New York. She was commissioned to paint a portrait for retired White House photographer Cecil Stoughton. Cecil was the photographer during JFK’s term as President.

Sandy has studied with the late Charlotte Griffin and taken workshops with Bill Schultz, Lois Griffel, Charles Sovek, Doug Dawson, Kenn Backhaus, John Budicin and Larry Moore. She has won numerous awards and several Best in Show awards to her credit.
Sandy holds memberships in the Pastel Society of America and is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society.
