July 30 - August 30, 2013
Friday, August 2nd
light refreshments will be served
Beauty is in the details some say and this August members of the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery will present works that reach inside their subjects and their minds to find the inner beauty. Visit the gallery and challenge yourself to guess what the familiar object is that creates the abstract art. "Zoom" inside the leaf of a plant, the veins of a rock, the eye of a giraffe or the rainbow of crystal and enjoy that which is often hidden, overlooked or tucked inside.
Also this month, back by popular demand, our annual sale on new and slightly used art books, art supplies and equipment, frames and artists' original art works. This is your chance to purchase all these items at greatly reduced prices.
As this event coincides with the EGAD Dog Days of Summer event, our own Mark Mittleman will be photographing owners and their dogs. Dogs will be on a pedestal held by the owners. The photographs will be taken in front of the gallery. The cost is $10.00 and the owner can pick up the 8x10 print ( on an 8.5x12in sheet of paper) during Second Saturday on the 10th of August.
The opening reception for the show will be Friday, August 2nd, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Complimentary light refreshments are served during the opening reception which is open to the public.
