Art and Antique Gallery "Going Coastal by Karen Chadbourne

Karen Chadbourne’s creative journey began in 1987 in the seaside town of Stonington, Connecticut located on the border of Connecticut and Rhode Island where she took acrylics with Howard Connelly.  She fell in love with oils in 1988 and studied with C. Russell Neagle for 10 years.  She loved watercolor as well and has followed her passion of painting ever since.

She is an elected artist of Mystic Art Center, Lyme Art Association, East Lyme Art League and the Artist cooperative of Westerly Rhode Island.  She was part of the studio called the Red Couch Studio in Westerly Rhode Island.

She has traveled to Europe with fellow artist painting in France, Italy and Portugal.  She loves to plein air paint and her favorite place is Block Island Rhode Island with is situated 12 miles off the coast.  She takes yearly trips there with friends to capture the rolling hills, bluffs and the sea.

She has been juried in many shows and has taken many workshops with some of the best artist in the country.

In December of 2011 she relocated to Melbourne Beach and join Art and Antique Gallery in 2012. She now enjoys capturing the Florida coast line.
