April Classes at the Indian River Pottery Studio



 


FUSED GLASS, Mondays, 9:30a-12:30p.

Beginning April 15 (Six weeks of classes - $135)  Instructor, Lori Emly
Have you ever admired a glass bowl or tray, and wondered how it was made?  This class is for you!!  We cover basic and intermediate methods of fusing glass.  Students will learn to use the kiln to achieve vibrant and original glass designs in functional and decorative pieces, including jewelry, small plates, bowls, and many other items.  Join the fun, and surprise your friends and family with your beautiful creations.

WHEEL THROWN POTTERY, Tuesdays, 6-9P.
Beginning April 16 (Six weeks of classes $135)  Instructor, Lori Emly
This comprehensive class covers basic and intermediate throwing and hand building skills.  Begin with making cups, bowls and vases, and then continue to more complex pots.  Lori is an accomplished ceramic and glass artist with years of teaching experience.  Her class allows for individual project and skill development.  Please bring a towel to class (we tend to get a little messy).

SCULPTURE IN CLAY, Wednesday, 9a-Noon.
Beginning April 16 (Six weeks of classes $145)  Instructor, Suzanne Peiffer
This class is designed for students to investigate and explore the figure in clay using hand-building techniques.  Detailed information on proportions of the boday and facial features will allow participants to cnstruct figurative pieces.  No previous experience is necessary.  We welcome first-timers.

MOSAICS, Thursdays, 9a-Noon.
Beginning April 16 (Six weeks of classes $145)  Instructor, Betsy Heath
A smashing good time!  Create artful mosaics by using familiar materials - ceramic tile, glass, pottery, stone, and found objects--in new and different ways.  Betsy is an experienced mosaic artist who has taught many workshops and classes.  Students may bring a project of their own choosing, or they will have options supplied by the instructor.  All levels of experience are welcome, and all forms of expression will be encouraged including functional and decorative pieces.

SATURDAY’S WHEEL THROWN POTTERY, Saturdays, 9:30a-12:30p.
Beginning April 27 (Six weeks of classes $145)  Instructor, Mary Moon.
Great class for beginning and contiuing students.  Instruction will be focused on throwing bowls, cylinders, and mugs.  Surface enrichment and glazing will also be covered.  This class allows for individual project and skill development.  Please bring a towel to class (we tend to get a little messy).
