All levels painters welcome! Beginners learn the basics of design and color, and experienced painters can leap to their next level of expertise. We explore color basics through classic color palettes of famous painters from Rembrandt to Warhol. After that, beginners pick your own subject and learn how to design your artwork to its best advantage using the golden mean or breaking the boundaries of design. Experienced painters explore paths until now not taken. Short 10-minute explorations of classic and modern design approaches will help beginners develop their own eye and style. Finally, beginners learn classic oil painting approaches, basic washes, lean to fat, impasto, and stable glazing techniques. Direct wet-on-wet brush strokes and palette knife approaches will be explored, as well as how to create atmosphere through glazes.  We will experiment with abstract approaches to painting.
