Art in the Schools.....

As many of you know, the arts programs in schools are facing budget cuts. I received this from Russ Taylor and am passing along information about two meeting that may be informative on these issues.

Lee Taylor is a teacher and  received the following notice about meetings regarding art in schools. With all the budget cuts on the table it's no surprise art is possibly on the chopping block. Please consider attending these meetings. 

Below are the scheduled times and locations for forum meetings concerning the BPS Budget Cuts.

These meetings will help keep you informed on what’s being discussed. 

It would be beneficial to encourage parent and/or community arts advocates to attend.  It’s an opportunity to voice positive support for the art and theatre programs and to be a part of the process as the Board studies and considers the list of possible cuts/options.

Forums to gain input from community members regarding the proposed revenue enhancements and budget cuts will be held at 6:30 – 8:00 pm for the below dates and locations:

Hoover Middle School Media Center
February 21, 2013
Viera High School Auditorium
February 25, 2013
