WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES: 24 HOUR ART CHALLENGE
The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery is excited to announce our March exhibition and fundraiser. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES:24 Hour Art Challenge, is a special exhibit of art in which 24 artists will have a 24-hour period in which to create an artwork based around a small set of prompts and guidelines to be revealed that day. These 24 works will be sold in a unique way to raise money for Very Special Arts Brevard, a local organization committed to providing persons with disabilities the opportunity to reach their full potential through the arts.
The opening for WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES: 24 Hour Art Challenge will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 in conjunction with First Friday Art Walk. This reception is free and open to the general public.
While we are anticipating 24 wonderful artworks based on the talents here in Brevard County, much of the focus will be on the creative process and why artists make art. Thanks to the creative talents at Brandt Ronat and Company we will be videotaping a portion of each participating artist’s work day to share that experience with our audience. This documentary film about the project will be screened during our Film Premiere at the Eau Gallie Civic Center on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. A Gala Reception follows at 7:30 at Fifth Avenue Art Gallery where ticket-holders will select their artwork and enjoy complimentary light refreshments.

Tickets Are Now Available For Sale!
Tickets can be purchased at the gallery during business hours or by calling the gallery at 321-259-8261 during business hours Tuesday – Saturday 10:00-5:00 and Sunday 1:00-4:00. Tickets can also be purchased online at http://whatadifferenceadaymakes.eventbrite.com/# (but will incur a small fee). Twenty-three tickets will be sold at $250 each which includes one artwork and entitles the ticket holder (plus 1 guest) to attend the Film Premiere and Gala Reception. Only 100 tickets are available for those wanting to attend the Film Premiere and Gala Reception at $25 per ticket. Raffle tickets for an artwork from the exhibit and other door prizes can be purchased for a suggested donation of $20 each (tickets available to reception attendees).

This promises to be a fun and rewarding evening dedicated to the arts community. “
