I Am Nature: paintings by Leslie Wayne at the Foosaner Art Museum

January 12–March 17, 2013

Inspired by the landscape, Leslie Wayne shapes paint in the way that geological forces work in nature. Alluding to compression and the shifting of tectonic plates, the intervening spaces between her many layers of paint act as the narrative. Crinkled, caked and folded, her compositions offer an analogous experience to the corporeal essence of nature.
