WHO: Space Coast Doll Artists, an art doll club
WHAT: Library showcase display of hand-crafted art dolls
WHEN: November 1 through 30, 2012
WHERE: Melbourne Public Library, 540 E. Fee Avenue
The Space Coast Doll Artists, a doll-making club located based in the Melbourne area, will have an exhibit of one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted art dolls at the Melbourne Library at 540 E. Fee Avenue. All the dolls were created by members of the club, as part of a year-long “challenge” to create a doll inspired by a piece of art by a well-known artist. The results are varied and eclectic, and exemplify each artist’s individual style and flair. The collection will be on display for the month of November.
Space Coast Art Dolls club meets on the third Friday of every month. The purpose of the club is to further the enjoyment and appreciation of art dolls, develop individual creativity, help doll makers grow in excellence as doll artisans, and promote doll making as an art.
