Classes at Indian River Potters' Guild

Indian River Potters' Guild is  delighted to introduce two new classes and additional themed workshops at Indian River Potters' Guild.

On Tuesday, March 13, they will start their newest course, Wheel Thrown Pottery.  The class will run for five weeks, from 6-9pm for $120.  This class will cover the basic and intermediate level working with clay -- this class is mainly focused on wheel-thrown pottery (centering, pulling walls, shaping and rimming) and glazing .  Lori Emly will instruct this all skill level class.  Spots are still available so call Valerie, IRPG Director, at 543-3645.  Clay is $16/25 lb bag.

On Wednesday, March 28, Suzanne Peiffer will instruct a course in Ceramic Sculpture.  Class will be held for five weeks, from 9am to Noon, and will cost $125.   The instructor will cover basic construction techniques using modified slabs, coils, and simple armatures.  Special attention will go to head and facial modeling techniques, and how surface and form combine to create visual meaning.  Students may explore personal and cultural history as they make figurative clay sculpture.  Clay is $16/25lb bag.
Their next workshop is March 16 where they will be hand-building vases from clay.  These are social, fun, and creative all at the same time.  There are two sessions available:  Noon-2pm or 6-8m.  Please keep in mind this is a "wet clay" studio, so the work created at the workshop must dry out and be glazed and fired after you leave.  It will be ready for pickup at a later date.  These are popular so grab a friend and reserve your seat quickly as seating is limited.

Mark your calendars now for Friday night, May 4, for this year's highly anticipated friendly mug competition CINCO DE MUGO.  Make it a night out in the Eau Gallie Arts District.

Visit their website for the full details on upcoming workshops, classes, memberships, and special events.

Get excited.  Make things.
