Melbourne, FL -- The Brevard Watercolor Society's 17th Annual Watercolor Show -- "Splash 2012," will be held Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This year's fine art exhibition will take place at 1419 Highland Avenue, in the Eau Gallie Arts District.
Between 75 and 100 local artists who are members of the Brevard Watercolor Society (BWS) will enter their original watercolor paintings in the show. Judges awards will be presented during an artists' reception the evening preceding the show.
Original artwork will be priced for sale and an artists' marketplace with prints, cards, and unframed originals will be available for art patrons. Activities will include raffles and a silent auction, live entertainment and refreshments. BWS plein air artists will be painting in the Eau Gallie arts district during the show and exhibiting their work in the courtyard.

Saturday, Watercolor demonstrations 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, Paint-A-Round 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Watch as 5 artists start individual paintings and then rotate to paint on each other's paintings until completed)
Sunday, "What To Do With That Painting That Didn't Work" 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
(A team of artists will take old paintings and transform them into new 2-D and 3-D pieces of art)
A section of the show features student art from BWS' Watercolor Art in Public Schools program.

The Brevard Watercolor Society, established seventeen years ago, currently has over 200 members. BWS partners with Brevard County organizations with themed exhibitions such as "Watercolors of Olde Brevard," which showcased Brevard history; "Celebration of 40 Years at Kennedy Space Center" exhibited at the KSC Visitor's Center; and "Postcards From Home" a collection of 230 miniature paintings by BWS members on 6 panels displayed throughout Brevard County and at the State Capital in Tallahassee.
