Central Brevard Art Association (CBAA) Sponsors Its First Annual Spring Fling

Save the day!  Saturday, March 31st is when CBAA will be conducting its first annual “Spring Fling” in the form of a garden pARTy.
The 50-year old organization is showing off its new digs at the old police station grounds on Barton Boulevard.  CBAA’s studio and office is behind the main building in what used to be the evidence building.
The City of Rockledge has embraced the art group and provided the facilities at very reasonable terms.   The garden party, in part, is to commemorate Rockledge’s gracious generosity.
The entrance to the grounds is on Jack Oates Boulevard, opposite the Malibu restaurant.  There is no charge to enjoy the garden pARTy.  Parking is available on the grounds and on Jack Oates Boulevard.
At this garden pARTy, the studio and grounds will teem with tents, beach umbrellas, balloons, and other decorations and with artists showing off their creations, kids enjoying art activities, art teachers demonstrating their techniques, and CBAA members showing their pride.  The hours for the garden pARTy are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  In case of rain, the event will be held the following day: Sunday, April 1st.
Art will be displayed and demonstrated in the studio itself by CBAA’s art instructors.  Many forms of art (traditional oils, acrylics, watercolors, etc) along with jewelry, silk paintings, and photography will round out the offerings throughout the grounds.  Many, if not all, pieces of art will be available for purchase.
A special kids’ tent will be the center of activities for the younger set.  Opportunities to draw and paint under adult supervision will take place in that tent, and kids will be able to take their masterpieces home at no cost. Adults, too, are welcome to try their hand at their creativity.  Many artists have volunteered to demonstrate and give instruction in their particular specialties.
Patuu, an officially registered clown in Florida (our president, Pat Ubbink), will be attending the festivities and will help guide the public onto the grounds.
Come spend the day with the Central Brevard Art Association Saturday, March 31st.  Food and drinks will be available at a nominal charge.  Who knows?  Perhaps the creative spark that has been lingering within someone in your family may flare up.  It’s never too late.  Grandma Moses is a testament to that.
Mark your calendar:  March 31 for a garden pARTy in Rockledge.  It’s free!
