Brevard Watercolor Society - Experimenting with Textures

Mini-workshop by Barbara Rios, BWS Member
Saturday, January 28, 2012
10:00am - 2:00pm
David R. Schechter Community Center, 1089 S. Patrick Dr, Satellite Beach

Supplies:
1.  Large stack of watercolor paper cut to, say 4" x 6" (I recommend the same paper you normally use for your paintings).
2.  Blow dryer, scissors, straight edge, comb, sponge, toothbrush
3.  The usual (water bucket, paper towels, brushes, paint).
4.  Egg cartons and small containers
5.  Optional, if you want to make a flip book - hole punch, string or key ring, cardboard for the cover.

I think most of us have at least tried salt, wax paper, plastic wrap and foil, but I'll bring some to show those who haven't.  I will be bringing over 30 different items with which to experiment.  If you have examples of texture you have used, please bring them and the material used, if possible.  Walk around the inside (kitchen especially) and outside of your home for items you think might make an interesting texture and let's try it.  You might be surprised at how it turns out.

Most important - Bring the uninhibited, anything-goes, creative "child" you used to be and let's have FUN!  The paint will be flying, so bring an apron!

If you have questions, call Barbara Rios at 321/446-6154.
